What you will catch, and best months:
Muskegon: You will enjoy a mixed bag, from King (Chinook) salmon, Steelhead (Rainbow) trout, Coho salmon, Brown Trout, and lake Trout.
May- Muskegon is real good for all the speices above.Memorial day 2009 was "phenominal" limit catches every day.
June- Not so good generally, fish are scattered because the lake tempreture has not set up yet.Lake trout fishing is pretty good though.
July- Is pretty darn good for primarly Kings, and Steelhead (rainbow) trout, and Lake trout.
August- "Fisherman/women hold on, the fishery gets fired up this time of the month" massive numbers of King salmon are starting to stage for there fall run, you can exspect Kings salmon,Steelhead,and lake trout in large numbers.
September- Is a all species month, Pier head king salmon, Brown Trout, off shore king salmon, off the hook steelhead, and Lake trout. Best mixed bag month.
October- Is incredable you will catch 2-3 year old King Salmon, Steelhead. This is offshore madness, my biggest day of the year in 2009 was in October 5, 35 fish on and 24 fish landed.
Lake Erie:Monroe Michigan
May- Walleye are returning from the Detroit, and Maumee rivers from the spawn. The largest Walleye are consistently caught durring this month.
June- "Is what I call the meat hunters month" Large schools of Walleye pile up in the Western Basin of Lake Erie. Daily Limit catches are pretty normal from Luna Pier to Breast Bay.
Lake Erie Down falls. The Western Basin is shallow, wind direction plays a huge role in fishing availabilty, wind direction can, and will make the lake as what we call a "mudd puddle" when this happen long boat rides to find clean water, under these conditions your best bet is to fish the Islands of Put-n-Bay, and Port Clinton Ohio.
